Who we are
The Creator Town (thecreatortown.com and our Android app) is a platform where creators offer sessions, workshops, digital products and freelance work, and where people find and book them. It is operated by AtomHouse TechCraft LLP, India. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean The Creator Town.
Information we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, username and phone number. Your password is never stored in readable form.
- If you sign in with Google: your name, email address and Google account ID. We never see your Google password, and we get no access to your Gmail, Drive, contacts or anything else in your Google account.
- Profile and content: what you add to your profile and what you publish, such as your bio, skills, experience, photos, posts, comments, sessions, workshops, products, files and reviews.
- Messages you send to other people on the platform.
- Bookings and purchases: what you booked or bought, from whom, when, and the amount.
- Payments: handled by our payment partner, Razorpay. We never receive or store your card, UPI or net banking details.
- For creators who get paid: your address, bank account details, which are passed to our payment partner (we keep only the last four digits), and PAN and identity documents where the law requires them for tax.
- How you use the platform: pages you visit, searches and interactions. We use this to recommend people and content, and Google Analytics to understand how the site is used.
How we use it
- To run your account and the features you use.
- To handle bookings, payments, refunds and payouts, and to create meeting links for sessions and workshops.
- To power search and recommendations.
- To send you emails you need, such as verification codes, booking updates and receipts.
- To keep the platform safe: preventing fraud and abuse, and acting on reports.
- To meet our legal and tax obligations.
If you connect Instagram
Creators can connect an Instagram Business or Creator account so that people who comment a chosen word on their posts receive a direct message from them with a link they choose. This is optional and only happens if you connect your account.
- What we receive: your Instagram username and basic account details, permission to reply on your behalf, kept securely, your posts so you can choose which ones to use, and comments on those posts.
- What we keep: only what is needed to make sure each person gets your message once. We do not keep the text of comments, and these records are deleted after a limited time.
- What we do with it: send the messages and optional public replies you set up, and show you how many were sent. Nothing else, and it is never sold or used for advertising.
- You can disconnect at any time from the Instagram page in your dashboard, or by removing The Creator Town from the apps and websites in your Instagram settings. We then stop using your account straight away. To have all of your Instagram data deleted, use the same Instagram setting or email us.
What other people can see
Your public profile and anything you publish publicly can be seen by anyone, including search engines. Your messages are seen only by the people in the conversation. Your email address is not shown publicly. If you are a creator and turn on instant response, your phone number is used for a "Contact on WhatsApp" button on your service posts. Otherwise it is not shown.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- With Razorpay, to process payments, refunds and payouts.
- With Instagram (Meta), only if you connect your Instagram account, to send the messages and replies you set up.
- With the service providers who host our platform, store files, deliver email and run video meetings, only so they can run those services for us.
- With authorities, when the law requires it.
Cookies and storage
We use cookies and your browser's storage to keep you signed in and remember your settings. Google Analytics also uses cookies to measure how the site is used.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active. If you deactivate your account, your profile and content are hidden from others. Records of payments, invoices and taxes are kept for as long as the law requires, and files someone has already bought stay available to that buyer.
Your choices
- You can view and correct most of your information in your profile settings.
- You can deactivate your account from your settings at any time.
- To ask for a copy of your information, for its deletion, or to withdraw your consent, email support@thecreatortown.com. Some information has to be kept where the law requires it.
Keeping it safe
We use industry standard safeguards, including encrypted connections, to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your password private and tell us right away if you think your account has been misused.
Young people
If you are under 18, please use The Creator Town only with the permission of a parent or guardian.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or on the platform.
