For Creators
Topmate Alternatives in India: Fees and Features Compared
Topmate made it simple for Indian creators to put a price on their time: one link, a booking page and a payment, with no subscription. It is a good product, and for many people it is still the right one. But as creators grow, the same few questions come up. Is a 20% cut on marketplace sales worth it? What if I want to run courses, workshops or a community too? And how do new people find me if I am not already famous on Instagram or LinkedIn?
This guide compares the main alternatives available in India, with the fees each one publishes. We run one of them, The Creator Town, so we have tried to be fair and to say plainly where another tool is the better fit.
Quick Comparison
| Platform | Cost | Fee on sales | What you can sell |
|---|---|---|---|
| Topmate | No subscription | 10% on sales through your own link, 20% on sales from its marketplace | 1-on-1 calls, priority DMs, digital products, webinars and packages |
| SuperProfile | Free plan; Creator plan $29/month | 0% platform fee (payment gateway charges not stated) | Digital products, courses, bookings, 1-on-1 coaching and webinars |
| Exly | Free; Pro ₹2,500/month; Premium ₹9,000/month | 10% on Free, 6% on Pro, 3% on Premium | Courses, consultations, digital products and communities |
| Graphy | From ₹24,999/year | 10%, 7.5% or 5% per sale by plan (minimum ₹10) | Courses, live classes, webinars and digital products |
| The Creator Town | Free; optional subscription | A modest platform fee and a smaller transaction fee, removed by subscribing | 1-on-1 sessions, workshops, digital products and freelance work |
| Do it yourself | Calendar tool plus payment links | Only payment gateway charges | Whatever you set up and manage yourself |
Fees are as published on each platform's pricing page in October 2026. They change often, so check the current pricing page before you decide. Payment gateway charges are extra on most platforms.
What to Compare Before You Switch
The headline commission is only one part of what you pay. Look at five things together:
- Total cost at your volume. A 0% fee with a monthly subscription can cost more than a 10% fee if you only sell a few sessions a month. Work it out with your real numbers.
- What you can sell. 1-on-1 calls, group workshops, recorded courses and digital downloads are different products. Moving later is painful, so pick a platform that covers where you want to be in a year.
- Who brings the buyers. Most link-in-bio tools only sell to people you send to them. If you do not have an audience yet, a platform with real discovery matters more than a lower fee.
- How payment and no-shows work. When are you paid, and what happens if a buyer does not turn up, or you cannot make it?
- Who owns the relationship. Can you message buyers after the sale, see their history, and sell to them again?
The Alternatives, One by One
SuperProfile
SuperProfile is the closest like-for-like swap. It covers the same ground as Topmate (a profile page with bookings, digital products and courses) and is built for Indian creators. Its main pitch is a 0% platform fee in exchange for a monthly subscription on the paid plan. It suits creators who already sell steadily from their own audience, where a flat subscription costs less than a percentage.
Exly
Exly is a fuller business tool. Alongside consultations and courses it adds a CRM, WhatsApp and email automation, and on higher plans a branded website and community. Its commission drops as the plan price rises, from 10% on the free plan to 3% on Premium. It suits creators who run a real business with repeat customers and want marketing automation in the same place.
Graphy
Graphy is built around courses: a learning platform with live classes, webinars and your own app. It is a strong choice if your main product is a structured course rather than your time, and you are ready to pay an annual plan. It is less of a fit if you mainly sell 1-on-1 calls.
The Creator Town
The Creator Town is our platform, so read this part with that in mind. It puts 1-on-1 sessions, workshops, digital products and freelance work under one profile, and its main difference is discovery: learners search for what they need in their own words and are matched with creators, so you are not only selling to people who already follow you. It is free to use. You can sell without subscribing, with a modest platform fee and a smaller transaction fee on what you sell, and subscribing removes that fee.
Learners pay before a session and the creator is paid once it has happened and both sides confirm it, with rules for no-shows on either side. Buyers need an account to book, which is a little more friction at checkout but means a real chat thread and payment protection on both sides. The honest trade-off: it is newer than Topmate, so its marketplace is still growing.
Do It Yourself
A calendar booking tool, a payment link from a gateway such as Razorpay, and a video call app will cost you only the gateway charges. It works well if you have a steady audience and do not mind handling reminders, refunds and invoices yourself. What you give up is any discovery, and the protection a platform gives both sides when something goes wrong.
Which One Should You Pick?
- You sell mostly 1-on-1 calls to your own followers: Topmate or SuperProfile. Compare the 10% fee with SuperProfile's subscription at your monthly sales.
- Your main product is a course: Graphy, or Exly if you also want a CRM and automation.
- You have the skill but not the audience yet: a platform with real discovery, such as The Creator Town, where people looking for your skill can find you.
- You want sessions, workshops and products in one place: Exly or The Creator Town.
Many creators use more than one. A common setup is to keep your existing link for followers and add a marketplace profile to reach new people. If you are just starting, our guide on how to sell your skills online in India covers pricing, payments and finding your first clients.
